Four A-10 Track Standouts Earn All-America Honors

PHILADELPHGIA, PA - La Salle's Sean Quigley, Kerstin Greene of Fordham and Charlotte's Shareese Woods and Sharonda Johnson each earned All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Quigley, a senior, placed seventh in the 5,000m. His time of 13:49.62 earned him his third NCAA All-American honor, including two from cross country. The top eight finishers in the event are automatically named All-American.

In her bid to become the first national champion in the history of Charlotte 49ers Athletics, Woods, also a senior, placed fourth in the finals of the 200m with a personal-best time of 22.963. The 4th-place showing is the best-ever by any 49er track athlete at the NCAA Championships.

Greene recored a fourth-place showing in the pentathlon, the highest-ever finish for a Fordham woman at the NCAA Championships.

Greene scored 4,202 points in the event, finishing behind Arizona State's Jacquelyn Johnson (4,393), Washington State's Diana Pickler (4,339) and Wisconsin's Melissa Talbot (4,225) in the 16-competitor field. The 4,202 points shatters her school record of 4,031, set at the 2007 ECAC Championships.

Greene tied for first in the high jump competition of the pentathlon, jumping 5-11 1/4, shattering her old school record of 5-8. She also took sixth in both the long jump, with a leap of 19-2, and in the 800m, which she covered in 2:19.67.

In the other pentathlon events, Greene placed 12th in both the shot put, with a toss of 37-8 3/4, and the 60m hurdles, coving the event in 8.79 seconds.

Johnson placed 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.78 meters (41-11 1/4) to record her best-ever finish at an NCAA Championship event. Stanford's Erica McClain won the triple jump event with a leap of 13.91 meters (45-7 3/4).
