Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards Announced

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Rhode Island’s Anthony Davidson was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, while Dayton’s Hanna Krizmanic was named Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week. Zach Campo of Rhode Island received Men’s Rookie of the Week and Richmond’s Mary Allen was named Women’s Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday for meets competed in Dec. 3 – 9. Davidson, a senior, earned Men’s Performer of the Week after competing in the 200 and 400 meter races at the Harvard Open this past weekend. The Easton, Pa., native placed first in both events, finishing the 200m with a time of 22.10 and 400m in 48.77 seconds, running IC4A qualifying standards in both events. Krizmanic, a junior, earned Women’s Performer of the Week honors after competing in the pole vault competition this past weekend at the Findlay Oiler Open hosted by the University of Findlay. The Tyler, Texas native placed second overall with a mark of 3.85m, landing in the first place spot in conference rankings. Campo earned Men’s Rookie of the Week accolades after competing in his first collegiate meet at the Harvard Open. The Wakefield, R.I., native took home a pair of first place finishes in the 300m (35.57) and 500m (1:05.24). Allen garnered Women’s Rookie of the Week after competition this past weekend at the Christopher Newport Holiday Open. The Richmond, Va., native finished second in the 200m with a time of 25.46, and also anchored on the 4x400m team with a split of 57.5.
