DAY TWO RESULTS
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure men lead with 249.5 points, while the Richmond women lead with 298 points after day two of competition at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Bonnies lead the competition after taking first place in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 1:21.18. Vatslav Lets took first place in the 500 freestyle, while also breaking the A-10 meet record (4:28.78). Ripley Danner finished first in the 200 individual medley (1:49.20). Mike murphy took first in the one meter dive (287.00), while Viacheslav Shchukin and Jimmy Martin finished second and third, respectively, in the 50 freestyle.
Following St. Bonaventure after day two of competition are Xavier (207), Massachusetts (204), George Washington (160), Saint Louis (149), La Salle (145.5), and Fordham (131).
The Spiders lead on the women’s side. The 200 freestyle relay finished first with a time of 1:32.72. Mali Kobelja won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:59.05, breaking the A-10 meet record. Jessie Krebs and Emma Terwilliger took second and third, respectively, in the 500 freestyle competition.
Following Richmond in the standings after day two are Massachusetts (216), Fordham (183.5), La Salle (176), George Washington (99), Duquesne (86.5), Xavier (85), Rhode Island (84), St. Bonaventure (78), Saint Louis (76), and Butler (42).
Action resumes tomorrow morning with the preliminary events beginning at 10:30 am and finals at 6:30 pm.
