Atlantic 10 Announces Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference teams were announced on Thursday, comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their performance in the pool, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, swimmers and divers must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. Making up the Men’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Conference team are George Washington’s Phillip Graeter and Jake Mortensen, La Salle’s Blase Szuszko and Daniel Fitzgerald, Massachusetts’ Alexander Merkulov, Chris Inglis, Michael Glenn, and Troy Nichols, Sam Conchuratt of Xavier, and Nathan Destree of St. Bonaventure. On the women’s side, Caroline Myers of George Washington, Emily Thomesen of Rhode Island, Richmond’s Mali Kobelja and Mina Vucic, Michaela Butler of Massachusetts, Courtney Shields of Xavier, Meghan Smith of Duquesne, Morgan Peterson and Taylor Streid of Saint Louis, and Brienne Ryan of Fordham complete the Women’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Conference team.
