A-10 Swimming & Diving Programs Earn Academic Distinction By CSCCA

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The George Washington men's and women's swimming & diving programs combined grade point average ranks sixth nationally among all Division I teams, it was announced by the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association Of America (CSCAA).

GW head coach Dan Rhinehart's women's team earned a 3.40 GPA to tie for 18th among the 81 teams honored. Also recognized on the women's side from the A-10 were Duquesne (3.370), Richmond (3.160), Fordham (3.087) and Rhode Island (3.070).

The George Washington men's program compiled a GPA of 3.260 tied for eighth among 44 men's teams nationally that were recognized. Also honored among A-10 men's swimming & diving programs were Fordham (3.109), Duquesne (3.090) and Rhode Island (3.030).

"Being part of the CSCAA Academic All-America team has always been an honor," Rhinehart said. "In fact, I can't remember a time when we have not been part of this elite academic listing. And, over the years, it has been a strong recruiting tool for us, as this illustrates the strength of our academics here at GW and helps us attract the type of student-athletes who can help us be successful."
