GW Tabbed To Seize 2010 A-10 Men's Tennis Championship

2/3/2010 - With the return of a strong nucleus of student-athletes to the hard court, George Washington is the favorite to win the 2010 Atlantic 10 men's tennis championship in voting conducted by the league's head coaches. Xavier, last year's A-10 champion, finished in a tie for second place with Saint Louis, while Temple was fourth in the voting. George Washington brings back four All-Conference selections in 2010, including 2009 A-10 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer Ugur Atalay (above).

 Rams picked up a tough three-set win over Xavier, 6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-4...joined forces with older brother Filip at No. 1doubles for an 8-6 victory over Xavier...earns Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after garnering the honor on Jan. 25.

Senior, Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy
 Playing at No. 3 singles, Ducro went 2-0 on the week, defeating Laura Matz of Saint Joseph's, 6-1, 6-0, and Theresa Stangl of Temple, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2...also went 2-0 at first and second doubles, picking up an 8-3 win over Saint Joseph's and an 8-4 win over Temple.
