XC Academic All-Conference Teams

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Megan Hogan of George Washington and Dayton's Chris Lemon have been tabbed the Atlantic 10 Student-Athletes of the Year in women's and men's cross country, respectively, in voting conducted among the Conference's sports information directors.

Hogan became the program's first-ever A-10 individual champion on Oct. 31 as she crossed the finish line in a time of 18:37.8 at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships at Forest Part in St. Louis, Mo. A native of Ballston Spa, N.Y., the 2008 A-10 runner-up will compete at the 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships for the second consecutive year on Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. Hogan boasts a 3.37 grade point average as an Interior Design major.

Joining Hogan on the women's cross country Academic All-Conference team are teammates Maureen Bulgrin and Liz Coorey of Dayton; Duquesne's Meg Ecker; Brigid Moriarty of Fordham; and Massachusetts' Shiyi Zan.

Lemon claimed the individual title at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships in a time of 26:13.3 in leading Dayton to a program-best third-place finish. A five-time A-10 Performer of the Week selection this season, Lemon established a school record on Oct. 2 at the Notre Dame Invitational with a time of 24:05 on the 8,000-meter course. The Bowling Green, Ohio, resident sports a 3.9167 grade point average while majoring in Education with a concentration in Spanish and earns Academic All-Conference distinction for the second consecutive year.

Lemon is joined on the men's cross country Academic All-Conference team by Adu Dentamo of Charlotte; Fordham's Clifton Hilario; Kevin Johnson of Massachusetts; Dayton's Matt Lemon; and Tim Quinn of Richmond.
