TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Senior Megan Hogan of George Washington capped off her incredible season with a 27th-place finish on Monday afternoon in a field comprised of the 255 top runners in the nation at the NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Championship. Hogan finished with a time of 20:34, which was 36 seconds faster than her NCAA Nationals time last year. By finishing 27th overall, she has achieved All-America status and is the first George Washington women's runner to earn that distinction.

The race wasn't smooth for Hogan as she was inadvertently tripped at 800 meters into the race and went from 15th place to 60th place in a matter of seconds. The Ballston Spa, N.Y., native gained on her competitors and got to 22nd place before finishing 27th.

Hogan completes a senior season that included an A-10 individual championship and an 11th place Mid-Atlantic Regional finish out of 190 runners. She also was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year.

"It was a great race," said GW Head Coach Brian Beil. "For Megan to get tripped early on and come back to earn All-American status is amazing. I am very happy with the race today and thought she ran a great race."

On Oct. 31, Hogan became the program's first-ever A-10 individual champion as she placed first at the A-10 Championship by more than 50 seconds over her closest competitor. The senior was also tabbed the Cross Country Women's Student-Athlete of the Year on Nov. 17. She 96th overall at the 2008 NCAA meet.

One the men's side, Duquesne's Mike Stolar placed 161st overall with a time of 31:41.2.
