Charlotte reached the 30-win mark for a program-record fifth consecutive season as a result of its 9-6 home victory over Saint Joseph's on May 10. Junior reliever Tim Lysaught (Shawnee, Kan.) allowed one run in 9.2 innings over two appearances and lowered his earned run average to 1.44 in A-10 play. Dayton junior leftfielder Cole Tyrell (Kirkland, Wash.) had three multi-hit performances and knocked in seven runs over four contests. The Flyers' 36 victories equal their highest total in team history, while their 71 home runs are tied with the 1993 squad for tops in program annals. Junior first baseman Mark Tracy (Claremont, Calif.) went 3-for-5 with a triple and a homer on May 8 as visiting Duquesne edged St. Bonaventure in 10 innings on May 8, 7-5. May 4 - Dayton 22, Duquesne 12; May 6 - Duquesne 5, Pittsburgh 2 (PNC Park)
Fordham senior first baseman Danny Leach (Yonkers, N.Y.) collected seven hits in 14 at-bats with eight runs scored and six stolen bases in the Rams' three-game series versus Richmond. Fordham has pounded out 10 or more hits in each of its last four contests. May 8 - Fordham 9, Richmond 8; May 9 - Fordham 13, Richmond 2
Junior shortstop Tom Zebroski (Port Washington, N.Y.) went 7-for-13 (.538) with a home run and three runs scored in George Washington's three-game series at Xavier. May 8 - Xavier 12, George Washington 6; May 9 - Xavier 4, George Washington 1
La Salle sophomore Kevin Fuqua (Derwood, Md.) registered his second complete game of the season and eighth of his career on May 10 in the Explorers' 2-1 setback at Dayton. Fuqua notched seven strikeouts and stands eighth in school history with 125 for his career.

Senior Adam Tempesta (Brockton, Mass.) cracked the 50th double of his career on May 10, tying the program record held by Justin Howard (1991-94). Rhode Island shortstop Dan Rhault's (Lincoln, R.I.) grand slam in the top of the 10th inning proved to be the difference in the Rams' 11-7 win at Massachusetts on May 8. Rhault leads the team in seven offensive categories, including hits (68) and RBI (56). May 8 - Rhode Island 11, Massachusetts 7 (10); May 9 - Massachusetts 10, Rhode Island 9 Freshman Adam McConnell (Yorktown, Va.) collected six hits in 12 at-bats versus Fordham, raising his average to a team-leading .369 on the season (.362 in A-10 play). His 29 steals lead the team and place him in a tie for fourth place on the Spiders' all-time single-season list. May 8 - Fordham 9, Richmond 8; May 9 - Fordham 13, Richmond 2
Junior designated hitter Kyle Gorby (DuBois, Pa.) went 3-for-5 with a career-high seven RBI as St. Bonaventure held off visiting Duquense on May 10, 13-10. Junior Dennis Sherba (Binghamton, N.Y.) became just the third player in program history to win eight games in a season after yielding five runs (four earned) over 5.2 innings of work with eight strikeouts. Saint Joseph's snapped an 11-game overall losing streak and a 10-game Conference skid on May 9 with a 14-5 win at Charlotte. The Hawks trailed 2-1 after one but scored 10 runs in the second inning, their biggest offensive outburst of the season, as all nine players in the batting order reached base and scored before the first out was recorded. Freshman Mike Plakis (Oaklyn, N.J.) led off the game with a home run and then hit a three-run shot in the second. May 8 - Charlotte 11, Saint Joseph's 9; May 9 - Saint Joseph's 14, Charlotte 5 Sophomore lefthander Andrew Buckham (Abbotsford, British Columbia) notched his first career complete game victory on May 10 as he scattered nine hits in a 12-3 Saint Louis win at Temple. Senior Dave Sever's (Burr Ridge, Ill.) 21 career wins are tied for tops in team history. May 8 - Saint Louis 12, Temple 11; May 9 - Saint Louis 11, Temple 7
Temple senior outfielder Sean Barksdale (Glenolden, Pa.) drove in four runs on May 8 versus Saint Louis to become the Owls' all-time leader with 155. Barksdale also ranks third in team history with 27 career homers. May 6 - Maryland-Eastern Shore 8, Temple 3; May 8 - Saint Louis 12, Temple 11
Xavier senior shortstop Jordan Conley (Hamilton, Ohio) was 7-for-14 with three doubles, four RBI and five runs scored as the Musketeers won all three of their home contests versus George Washington. Xavier's 31 wins are one shy of tying the program record, set in 1987 and 1997. May 8 - Xavier 12, George Washington 6; May 9 - Xavier 4, GW 1
PACK YOUR BAGS: Rhode Island, Dayton and Xavier have secured berths in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship, to be held May 20-23 at Fifth Third Field in Dayton, Ohio. URI has now qualified for the Championship in each of the last seven seasons, the longest active streak in the Conference. FLYING OUT OF THE PARK: Dayton's 71 home runs this season are tied for the highest single-season total in team history. The last time UD cracked 71 homers in a season was back in 1993. A BIG RELIEF: Xavier senior Jordan Conley notched his program-record 11th save of the season in the Musketeers' 9-8 win at Indiana State. Conley's ranks first in XU history with 21 career saves. RANK AND FILE: Ryan Rivers cracked a pair of homers in Charlotte's 2-1 win at No. 5 North Carolina on Mar. 25. The 49ers are the third A-10 program to knock off a nationally-ranked foe this season. Saint Louis turned aside No. 11 Mississippi on Mar. 24, while Rhode Island boasts wins this season over eighth-ranked Miami (Fla.), 3-0, on Mar. 3, No. 25 Ohio State (8-6) on Mar. 6 and 11th-ranked Oklahoma State (5-4) on Mar. 15.
