Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - A-10 Rookie of the Year Cameron Hobson of Dayton, Duquesne's Rick Devereaux and Zach Miller of Saint Louis have been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team, it was announced by Collegiate Baseball.
A second-team All-Conference selection, Hobson posted a 7-1 record with a 3.43 earned run average. The southpaw established a program single-season record with 83 strikeouts in 78.2 innings pitched. A native of Crawfordsville, Ind., Hobson issued just 16 walks and added a pair of saves and one complete game. He finished second in the league in strikeouts and tied for fourth in wins.
A member of the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, Miller led the Billikens in RBI (61), home runs (10) and slugging percentage (.551) while starting all 54 contests. The O'Fallon, Mo., resident batted .324 with 11 doubles, 70 hits and four triples, which tied for fourth in the A-10. The third baseman's 61 RBI ranked third in the league and marked the most by a SLU freshman in team history.
Devereaux batted .323 with a team-best 42 runs scored and 45 RBI. An Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection, the freshman catcher from Oakdale, Pa., shared the team lead with 15 doubles and added 25 walks and four home runs.
