NEW YORK, N.Y. - Former University of Dayton righthander Craig Stammen recently earned his first MLB win in leading the Washington Nationals to a 3-0 victory over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
In 6.1 innings pitched for the Nats, Stammen recorded two strikeouts and yielded six hits without allowing a walk.
During his time as a Flyer, Stammen surged to second in UD history for single-season wins with nine and fifth in strikeouts with 77. He was a member of the 2005 team that set the previous school record of 36 wins which was broken by this year's Dayton team.
