NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named VCU senior Troy Daniels its men's basketball Player of the Week and Charlotte freshman Willie Clayton its Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday for games played during the week of Jan. 10-16.

Daniels broke his own school record and the A-10 record for three-pointers with 11 for a career-high 33 points in a road victory at ETSU and tallied 11 points in a victory over Lehigh.  The guard also posted first career double-double with 10 rebounds against the Buccaneers and led the Rams to their eighth and ninth straight wins. A Roanoke, Va., native he was 15-of-31 (.484) from the field and 14-of-29 (.483) beyond the arc while committing just one turnover in the two games.  Daniels ranks second in the country in three-pointers made (64), first in the country in three-pointers per game (4.27) and he has moved into fifth place on VCU's all-time three-pointers made list (191).

Clayton recorded his third career double-double and second straight double-double in the overtime victory against UNC Asheville. The Thomasville, Ga., native scored 16 points and 16 rebounds in the 49ers only game of the week. A forward, he made four field goals and eight free throws in the effort while recording two steals and a block. His 16 rebounds is one of the highest rebounds total by a freshman in school history.

Dayton's Josh Benson scored 20 points on 9-of-12 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds in the Flyers' 78-71 win over UAB ... Freshman Jalen Robinson of Dayton scored seven points and had five rebounds in limited action in the UAB win ... George Washington freshman Kevin Larsen scored 14 points on a perfect 6-for-6 performance form the field against Georgia ... La Salle's Tyrone Garland averaged 17.5 points, tallying 20 at Miami (Fla.) and 15 versus Penn, sinking 10 field goals against the Hurricanes and dishing out six assists versus Penn ... Chaz Williams had back-to-back games dishing out nine assists, just shy of a double-double in each game after scoring 10 points versus Miami (Ohio) and 14 versus Eastern Michigan ... Xavier Munford tallied 18 points, including 14 in the second half along with four rebounds, and two assists in Rhode Island's 59-47 win over Brown ... Richmond's Kendall Anthony drilled seven 3-pointers and went 8-of-11 (.727) from the field and 8-of-9 (.889) at the line for 31 points in the Spider's win over Air Force ... C.J. Aiken scored 19 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting and 5-of-5 from the line in Saint Joseph's win over Philly rival Drexel, recording eight rebounds and six blocks to lead the Hawks ... Cory Remekun tallied 15 points against New Mexico and 10 versus Savannah State in a pair of Saint Louis wins ... Temple's Khalif Wyatt scored 26 points in Temple's near upset of No. 6 Kansas, including registering a perfect 7-of-7 at the line.
