NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named La Salle senior Ramon Galloway its men's basketball Player of the Week and Butler freshman Kellen Dunham its Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday for games played during the week of Jan. 21-27. Galloway played a critical role in lifting La Salle to two wins over ranked opponents last week, scoring a game-winner versus No. 9 Butler and registering a career-high 31 points at No. 19/16 VCU. The senior guard from Philadelphia scored the game-winning layup with 2.7 seconds left to beat the Bulldogs, 54-53, on Wednesday. He followed that with the career scoring output in the Siegel Center, hitting four 3-pointers, shooting 9-for-18 (.500) from the field and was nearly perfect 9-of-10 (.900) at the charity stripe, including 8-for-8 in the last two minutes of the close contest. Galloway was named to ESPN.com's "Starting Five", the top five players of the week nationally. Dunham put together back-to-back double-figure scoring performances in Butler's games against La Salle and Temple last week. The guard from Pendleton, Ind., had 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a career-high 37 minutes at La Salle. He then came off the bench with 17 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes to help the Bulldogs defeat Temple. Dunham hit five of six 3-point field goal attempts against Temple and cashed eight of 10 3-pointers on the week. He was the lone Butler player to score in double-figures in both games last week.
