NEWPORT NEWS, Va.--The Atlantic 10 has selected St. Bonaventure senior forward Andrew Nicholson and Xavier senior guard Tu Holloway as its Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week. Massachusetts redshirt freshman forward Maxie Esho was chosen as the league's Rookie of the Week. The duo earned the awards Monday for games played during the week of Feb. 13-19.

Nicholson averaged 25.5 points and 9.0 rebounds, while shooting 4-of-4 from 3-point range and 60 percent from the floor overall (20-30) in a split week for the Bonnies. The Mississauga, Ontario, native finished with 19 points, five rebounds and four blocks in a 76-70 loss to league-leader Temple. On senior night versus Rhode Island, Nicholson had 20 points before halftime, totaling 32 points and 13 boards to complete his fifth double-double of the year. Nicholson is just shy of averaging a double-double in his last 10 games, posting 19.7 points and 9.7 caroms in those A-10 contests.

Holloway, who was the unanimous selection by the media as the Blackburn/McCafferty Game MVP in the win over Dayton, led Xavier with 32 points (one shy of his career high), six rebounds, five assists and two steals. At the end of regulation Holloway had grabbed the lead back for XU at 75-73 with 11 seconds left on an old-fashioned 3-point play. UD tied the score at 75 with two seconds left to send the game to overtime. Holloway then took over and scored XU's final seven points in overtime (seven of the Musketeers' 11 overtime points), including a deep turnaround 3-pointer and four clutch free throws.

Esho scored a career-high 18 points in UMass' narrow 72-71 loss to La Salle in the Mullins Center on Saturday night. The redshirt freshman was 7-for-9 from the field with six rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes of play. He scored 10 of his 18 points in the final 6:08 of regulation as UMass rallied from a nine-point deficit to tie the game with 2:51 to go. After La Salle went back up by four, a three-point play by Esho kept the Minutemen within one basket with 21 seconds to go.
