NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Xavier's Tu Holloway was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, while Saint Louis' Dwayne Evans was named Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Holloway averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 2.5 steals in leading Xavier to two victories this past week. The junior guard recorded his second triple-double of the season in Saturday's victory over Fordham. He recorded 26 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 9-for-11 from the charity stripe, to go with a career-high 11 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals while not committing a turnover. Holloway is the only Xavier player on record with more than one triple-double in his career, while he is the only player at the NCAA Division I level with more than one triple-double this season. The Hempstead, N.Y., native opened the week with 14 points, five rebounds and seven assists in a win at Saint Joseph's. The weekly award for Holloway is his sixth of the season.

Evans led the Billikens averaging 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 61.9 percent (13-for-21) in two games last week. The freshman forward led Saint Louis in scoring in both games against Charlotte and St. Bonaventure, while grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds in a win over the 49ers for his fourth double-double of the season and third against league opponents. Evans, a native of Bolingbrook, Ill., has been the team's leading scorer in each of the last four games.

Xavier returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, February 22 as the Musketeers host La Salle at 7:00 p.m. Saint Louis is also in action on Tuesday as the Billikens jump out of league play to host Chicago State at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
