LA SALLE 72, RHODE ISLAND 65 | RHODE ISLAND POSTGAME
KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Tyreek Duren scored a game-high 21 points and Jerrell Wright finished with a double-double as La Salle pulled away to beat Rhode Island 72-65 Sunday in Atlantic 10 Conference play.
Wright had 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Ramon Galloway added 13 points and seven boards as La Salle (19-7, 9-4) outrebounded Rhode Island 37-31.
Though the Explorers, who have won five of their last six games, shot 30.4 percent (7 of 23) in the first half and trailed at halftime 30-27, they improved to 55.2 percent (16 of 29) after intermission.
Trailing 37-30 at the 18:10 mark, La Salle took control of the game with a 30-12 run, capped by Wright's dunk to go up 60-49 with 7:42 remaining. The Explorers led the rest of the way.
Xavier Munford led the Rams (8-18, 3-10) with 18 points, and Nikola Malesevic and Mike Aaman added 15 points apiece.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Scootie Randall scored 18 points and Temple beat Charlotte 71-51 Sunday for the Owls' third straight victory.
Temple (19-8, 8-5 Atlantic 10 Conference) jumped to a 6-0 lead, but Charlotte tied it 12-12 9 1/2 minutes in. The Owls responded with a 10-2 run, then closed the half with a 7-2 stretch to lead 39-24 at the intermission.
Khalif Wyatt added 12 points and Jake O'Brien 10 for the Owls.
Temple completed a season sweep of Charlotte, also having beaten the 49ers 89-88 on Feb. 6.
Charlotte (18-8, 6-6) has dropped four of its past five, with the lone win an upset of then-No. 11 Butler on Feb. 13. Pierria Henry and Mike Thorne each had 10 points to lead the 49ers, who shot 27.4 percent (17 of 62), including a 1-of-12 showing from 3-point range.
Temple shot 48.3 percent (28 of 58) and hit 10 of 24 treys.
