NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Xavier sophomore Dee Davis its Player of the Week and Butler freshman Kellen Dunham its Rookie of the Week. The awards, which are the first of the season, were for games played Nov. 9-11.

Davis scored a career-high 22 points on the strength of a career-high five three-pointers, to go with a career-high 15 assists in the Musketeers’ win over Fairleigh Dickinson. The guard from Bloomington, Ind., was 8-of-11 from the field (.727) and 5-of-7 from 3-point range (.714). He also had four rebounds and a steal. The 15 assists are the most ever by a Xavier sophomore and the total is tied for the second-highest total by any XU player (three shy of the school record). It also is tied for the fourth-best single-game assist performance in A-10 history.

Dunham came off the bench and scored 18 points in 29 minutes to help lead Butler past Elon, 74-59. He scored 10 points in the first half, and finished the game shooting 5-of-10 from the field (.500) and 3-of-8 from beyond the arc (.375). The guard from Pendleton, Ind., was perfect (5-of-5) at the free throw line, and he added three assists and one steal in the win.
