Two Atlantic teams were in action Wednesday night. St. Bonaventure picked up a victory against Cornell while Saint Louis lost to Santa Clara in the CBE Classic.

St. Bonaventure 72, Cornell 68

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - Chris Johnson scored 19 points to lead three players in double digits as St. Bonaventure held on to beat Cornell 72-68 Wednesday night in nonconference action.

Demitrius Conger and Marquise Simmons chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds apiece.

After Shonn Miller's dunk tied the game at 10 for Cornell, the Bonnies (2-0) scored the next eight points and finished the half on a 25-14 run. St Bonaventure led at halftime 35-24.

The Big Red (1-1) fought back in the second half to make it a one-possession game.

Trailing by two points at 69-67 with 17 seconds left in the game, Devin Cherry hit 1 of 2 free throws for Cornell to cut the lead to one. After two Charlon Kloof free throws extended the lead to 71-68, Josh Figini's missed 3-pointer with nine seconds left sealed the victory for the Bonnies.
    

Santa Clara 74, Saint Louis 62

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Kevin Foster scored 30 points to lead Santa Clara past Saint Louis 74-62 Wednesday night.

Foster also had seven steals and five assists for the Broncos (2-0). He was 10 of 18 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers, and 8 for 9 from the free-throw line. Foster was coming off a 27-point performance against Simpson (Calif.) in the Broncos' opener.

Marc Trasolini, who missed last season with a knee injury, had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Broncos before fouling out in the final minute.

The game was part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic.

Rob Loe led Saint Louis (1-1) with 13 points. Cody Ellis had 11 points for the Billikens, who beat South Carolina-Upstate in their opener Friday night.

The Billikens led in the game's first minute on Wednesday but Santa Clara led 44-31 at halftime behind Foster's 17 points.
