The A-10 picked up four wins in four games Monday night, including a dramatic buzzer-beating victory for Butler, a runaway win for Saint Louis and first wins of the season for Duquesne and Fordham.

Butler 72, Marquette 71

LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) - Butler's Rotnei Clarke hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to shock Marquette 72-71 on Monday at the start of the Maui Invitational.

Clarke hit the improbable basket after the Bulldogs (2-1) drove the length of the court down two points with less than eight seconds left.

Clarke - who had missed most of his 3-point shots for the game - pulled up from the right side and was mobbed on the gym floor by his teammates after the shot went through.

Marquette's Andrew Thomas hit a putback layup and made a free throw to put the Golden Eagles (2-1) up three with 30.9 seconds left.

Saint Louis 70, Texas A&M 49

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Dwayne Evans matched a career high with 21 points, Mike McCall Jr. added 13 and Saint Louis rolled to a 70-49 victory over Texas A&M on Monday night in the semifinals of the CBE Classic.

Cory Remekin added 13 points and Cody Ellis finished with 10 for the Billikens (2-1), who will play No. 12 Kansas or Washington State in the championship game Tuesday night.

The Billikens, who were stunned by Santa Clara last week, bounced back nicely against an Aggies squad expected to fare well in the SEC this season. Meanwhile, Texas A&M (3-1) struggled from the foul line and was dominated on the boards in a game that was never very close.

Elston Turner had 16 points and Ray Turner added 10 for the Aggies, but Fabyon Harris was just 2 for 10 from the field and Texas A&M committed 19 turnovers while getting out-rebounded 31-25.

Duquesne 90, James Madison 88

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Sean Johnson led five double-digit scorers with 20 points and Duquesne defeated James Madison 90-88 in overtime Monday in a subregional matchup of the 2012 Progressive Legends Classic.

Quevyn Winters had 19 points and a team-high nine rebounds while P.J. Torres, Derrick Colter and Jerry Jones each tallied 12 points.

Duquesne (1-2) led by as many as 10, 46-36, in the second half but James Madison cut the deficit to 81-79 with 1:22 remaining behind an Andre Nation 3-pointer.

Devon Moore nailed two free throws with 39 seconds left to tie the game and James Madison (1-1) missed two layups and a tip in over the final 12 seconds to send the game into overtime.

Colter hit a layup to give Duquesne its first overtime lead, 88-86, and Jones was fouled after recording a steal on James Madison's next possession.

Jones sank the ensuing free throws to seal the win.

Fordham 70, Penn 68

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - Jeffrey Short hit a go-ahead layup with 52 seconds left and Fordham earned a 70-68 victory over Pennsylvania in an NIT Season Tip-Off consolation game Monday.

The Rams trailed 66-65 after Penn's Steve Rennard hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:13 left, but Short's layup put Fordham up 67-66.

Branden Frazier drained a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left to put Fordham (1-3) up 69-66. A Fran Dougherty layup with six seconds left cut the deficit to 69-68, but Jermaine Myers' free throw a second later set the final margin.

Frazier finished with a team-high 19 points, boosted by 9-of-10 shooting from the free-throw line. Short had 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Fordham shot 42.1 percent (8 of 19) from beyond the arc, with Bryan Smith (14 points) leading the way by going 4 of 5 from 3.

Dougherty and Miles Cartwright each had 20 points for the Quakers.
