Holloway, Anthony Selected For A-10 Weekly Awards

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.--The Atlantic 10 has named Xavier senior guard Tu Holloway Player of the Week and Richmond freshman guard Kendall Anthony Rookie of the Week. Both awards were announced Monday for games played during the week of Nov. 28 - Dec. 4. Holloway, a native of Hempstead, N.Y., lead the Musketeers to two wins over a pair of top-caliber teams. He scored 24 points, including 10 of XU's 16 points in overtime at No. 20/19 Vanderbilt. He added five rebounds, four assists and three steals in the road win. He followed that with a 21-point performance against Purdue (which is receiving poll votes), adding four rebounds, four assists and a steal against the Boilermakers. Holloway again came through with late-game heroics, scoring Xavier's final 11 points, including three 3-pointers, in the final 1:48 to cap a 19-point XU comeback win. He scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half. Anthony averaged 19 points, leading Richmond to a pair of road wins against in-state foes last week to earn the award for the third time this season. A Jackson, Tenn., native, he scored 17 points and dished out three assists in a 92-61 win at William & Mary, including shooting 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. He followed that with a career-high 21 points in a Richmond win at Wake Forest. Anthony was 6-of-11 from the field and 7-of-9 at the line versus the Demon Deacons.
