The Atlantic 10 went 1-1 Friday night in men's basketball. VCU and Fordham are the only two A-10 temas that won't play Saturday. All 14 or the other A-10 teams will play Saturday.

VCU 93, Longwood 56

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Troy Daniels scored 25 points - including seven 3s - to lead four players in double figures as Virginia Commonwealth dominated Longwood 93-56 Friday night.

Juvonte Reddic went 9 of 12 from the field, finishing with 20 points for VCU (9-3).

Treveon Graham and Rob Brandenburg made three 3-pointers apiece, scoring 16 and 11 points, respectively, for the Rams.

VCU started the game on a 19-8 run. Reddic and Graham scored all 19 points, with Graham going 3 for 3 from 3-point range during the run. VCU led at halftime 50-31.

Longwood (3-10) shot just 38.5 percent (10 for 26) in the second half as VCU extended the lead.

VCU turned the ball over 12 times compared to 27 turnovers for the Lancers.

The Rams shot 50 percent from deep, making 14 of 28 3-pointers.

David Robinson led Longwood with 18 points, but turned the ball over seven times.


UConn 88, Fordham 73

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Ryan Boatright scored a career-high 26 points and added nine assists as Connecticut routed Fordham 88-73 Friday night.

The Huskies (9-2) used a suffocating defense to force 21 Fordham turnovers while making 15 steals. They scored 35 points off turnovers while amassing their highest point total of the season.

The Huskies shot 50.8 percent (31 of 61) from the floor, including 8 of 21 from 3-point range, in winning their third straight game since losing to North Carolina State in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden.

Shabazz Napier added 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for Connecticut and Omar Calhoun had 17 points. The Huskies scored 57 first-half points and led by as many as 32 in a game they never trailed.

Branden Frazier led the Rams (2-9) with 26 points.
