NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—The Atlantic 10 has named Richmond senior Brad Miller the league’s Golfer of the Week and freshman Jack Persons from George Washington as the Golf Rookie of the Week the league announced Thursday. The awards were presented for events played April 4-April 10.

Miller carded rounds of 73-69-69 to place sixth overall at the Coca-Cola Invitational with a total of 211. The final two rounds of 69 placed the Timonium, Md., native five under for the 54-hole event and helped the Spiders tie for a sixth place. He was one of 17 golfers at the event to shoot under par and was just three strokes from finishing in the top three.

Persons shot his best round in the third round on Tuesday with a two-over 74 to finish tied for 14^th out of 50 golfers with a three-round total of 14-over 230. The San Francisco, Calif., native sat tied for 22^nd after the first two rounds on Monday, but his best round on Tuesday helped him climb the leader board.
