HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Junior Corey Nagy shot one-over par for the round and one-under over 54 holes to win the individual title and Charlotte finished 11 strokes ahead of runner-up Xavier on Sunday to capture its fourth consecutive Atlantic 10 Golf Championship.
Playing in near-perfect conditions for the third straight day on the 6,887-yard, par-71 course at the Mission Inn Resort, Charlotte (+20/872) became the first A-10 program to win four straight titles since Penn State won five consecutive crowns from 1986-91. XU shot 10-over for the day and 31-over par (883) for the Championship for its third runner-up finish in the past four years.
"This really sweet because the guys have continued to work hard throughout the season, done everything that was asked of them and put in a lot of extra time," said Charlotte interim head coach Adam Pry, who was tabbed the 2009 A-10 Coach of the Year for his efforts.
"For Corey [Nagy] to win individually is fantastic. He's really played sharp lately and it was a heck of a tournament for him."
Richmond junior Robert Lindstrom carded a final round 69, the top individual effort of the day, as the Spiders (+45/897) posted the low round of the day at five-over par to place third overall. It marked their highest finish since tying for third in 2005.
Temple (+55/907), finished fourth, its highest finish since a 2002, followed by Rhode Island (+62/914), St. Bonaventure (+65/917), Dayton (+78/930), George Washington (+85/937), Saint Joseph's (+87/939), Duquesne (+117/969), La Salle (+125/977) and Fordham (+152/1004).
Nagy is the second 49er to win the A-10 individual title in the past three seasons, joining 2007 champion Matt Mincer. He carded nine birdies over the three days and earned All-Conference distinction for the third consecutive year.
"I was right there last year and knew I had a chance but today I was out there trying to have fun and stay patient," said Nagy, who finished runner-up a year ago and tied for third overall in 2007.

"I'm really happy for the team. Our backs were against the wall for a little bit and we wanted it so bad. To get this title in Adam's [Pry] first year is pretty cool."
Xavier freshman Sebastian MacLean fired a 74 on Sunday to finish fourth overall at plus-six for the Championship and became the fifth player in program history and first since Andy Connell in 2006 to garner Most Outstanding Rookie honors. XU teammates Alan Glynn and Mike Beausejour posted rounds of 72 and 73 on Sunday, respectively.
"I started the round pretty steady was pretty close to the lead for most of the weekend so to be named Rookie of the Year is great motivation for next year. I am proud of my teammates. They really fought hard and we gave it a good fight today," said MacLean, who finished with six birdies and an eagle for the Championship and shared A-10 Rookie of the Year honors with Rhode Island's Taylor Fontaine, who posted a round of even par on Sunday.
Joining Nagy, Fontaine, MacLean, Beausejour and Glynn on the All-Conference Team are Charlotte teammates Paul Ferrier and Stefan Wiedergruen; Rob Chappell of Dayton; Richmond's Michael Shrader; Brennan Payne and Nathan Peck of St. Bonaventure; and Temple's Andrew Mason and Eric Plisko.
