Charlotte Atop Leaderboard At A-10 Men's Golf Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Sophomore Andy Sajevic fired a one-over par 73 and Charlotte shot five-over for its round as the 49ers took sole possession of first place and moved one step closer to their league-record sixth consecutive title following second round action at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship at Mission Inn Resort & Club. Charlotte (+7) holds a three-stroke advantage over Xavier (+10), which posted a round of eight-over for the day. Richmond (+19) maintains its position in third place, followed by Temple (+44), Dayton (+50), George Washington (+50), Rhode Island (+53), Fordham (+56), St. Bonaventure (+61), La Salle (+77) and Saint Joseph’s (+82). Richmond sophomore Nick Austin paced all players on the day, carding a five-under par 67 over the 18-hole, 6,901-yard layout, as the Spiders posted the low round of the afternoon (+1). Austin is currently tied for second place at one-under (76-67-143) with Sajevic, trailing tournament leader Herbert Day of Xavier by one-stroke (70-72-142). Xavier’s Sebastian MacLean sits in fourth place at even par (72-72-144) after two rounds of competition, while Rafeal Guererro of Charlotte rounds out the top five at one-over (71-74-145). Final round action of the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship commences at 8:00am on Sunday.
