PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior Corey Nagy of Charlotte has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Student-Athlete of the Year in men's golf in voting conducted by the Conference's sports information directors.

Nagy won the individual title at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship at Mission Inn Resort (Apr. 24-26) with a one-under par 212, the lone competitor to finish under par for the 54-hole Championship. A three-time All-Conference selection, the Charlotte, N.C., native led the 49ers to their fourth consecutive A-10 crown and school-record fifth straight berth in the NCAA Tournament. He leads the A-10 with a 73.31 stroke average.

In the classroom, Nagy maintains a 3.571 grade point average as a psychology major. A three-time member of the Commissioner's Honor Roll, he was named to the Dean's List in the Spring of 2007 and 2008.

He is joined on the Academic All-Conference team by teammate Stefan Wiedergruen; Dayton's Rob Chappell; Brennan Payne of St. Bonaventure; and Rhode Island's Mark Stevens. It marks the second straight year that Payne and Wiedergruen have earned Academic All-Conference honors.
