HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Charlotte fended off final-round rallies from Xavier and Richmond to capture its league-record sixth A-10 Men's Golf Championship, Sunday at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

The 49ers finished 17-over par for the 54-hole competition, including 10-over on Sunday, while Xavier battled for second-place, shooting 22-over during the three-day event. Richmond captured third-place after firing an afternoon-low of four-over par, closing out the Championship at +23 over.

Temple (+59) finished fourth at the 33rd annual A-10 Men's Golf Championship, followed by Rhode Island (+64), George Washington (+76), Fordham (+89), St. Bonaventure (+92), Dayton (+99), Saint Joseph's (+107) and La Salle (+120).

Xavier's Herbert Day (70-72-72) and Richmond's Nick Austin (76-67-71) shot two-under par for the Championship, finishing in a tie for the event's top spot. Day outlasted Austin in a two-hole sudden-victory playoff to claim the A-10 individual title and earn Most Outstanding Performer honors.

Charlotte's Andy Sajevic (70-73-73-216) finished the Championship at even-par to claim third-place, while Xavier's Sebastian MacLean (72-72-74-218) finished fourth with a three-day score of two-over par.

Temple's Connor McNicholas (+7) finished tied for seventh overall after posting rounds of 73-74-76-223 and was tabbed the program's first Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer.

Andrew Mason of Temple carded the low round of the day with a two-under 70, followed by Richmond's Daniel Walker (-1) and Austin (-1).

Joining Day on the 10-member All-Conference team are MacLean and Sajevic; along with Olafur Loftsson and Will Golden of Charlotte; Patrick Pelletier of Rhode Island; Austin and Sam Beach of Richmond; McNicholas and Mason.
