2011 A-10 MEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham headlines the six-team field for the 2011 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, to be held Nov. 10-13 at Robert R. Hermann Stadium on the campus of Saint Louis University, the league office announced on Sunday. Fordham and George Washington finished atop the Conference standings with 21 points to be named A-10 regular season co-champions.

The six-team field that will be competing in St. Louis consists of #1 seeded Fordham (11-6-1/7-2-0); #2 seeded George Washington (9-6-2/7-2-0); #3 seeded Charlotte (13-3-2/6-1-2); #4 seeded Temple (9-9-0/5-4-0); #5 seeded La Salle (6-8-4/4-2-3); and defending champion #6 seeded Xavier (10-4-3/4-3-2).

The Conference championship will kick-off on Thursday, November 10 at 5:00PM CT, as #3 Charlotte takes on #6 Xavier, followed by game two at 7:30 PM CT as #4 Temple squares off with #5 La Salle.

Fordham received the #1 seed in the upcoming Championship earning the tiebreaker over George Washington, who will enter the tournament as the #2 seed. The regular season title is the first for the Rams, while the Colonials captured their first regular season crown since 1992.

By receiving the #1 and #2 seeds in this year's championship, both Fordham and George Washington received a first round bye and will open the A-10 Tournament on Friday, November 11. The Rams will play the lowest remaining seeded team at 5:00PM CT, followed by a 7:30 PM CT contest between the Colonials and the highest remaining seeded team to advance out of Thursday’s opening round action.


 

 

The league championship will be played on Sunday, November 13 at 1:00PM CT.
