- For the second-straight year No. 5/5 Xavier University (24-3, 14-0) captured the Atlantic 10 regular season title and the Conference's top seed in this week's Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship. For the first time in the 28-year history of the Championship, the tournament will be played at a neutral site beginning Friday, Mar. 5 at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. The Championship will feature 12 teams vying for the A-10 title and the automatic berth into the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship.

No. 5/5 Xavier's Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips are among 30 student-athletes named midseason candidates for the 2010 Women's Naismith Trophy, presented by AT&T, as announced by The Atlanta Tipoff Club today. The No. 5 ranking is the highest the Musketeers have ever achieved, besting the No. 6 ranking the team held last week. Behind a 23-point performance from senior Dana Mitchell, the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team led wire-to-wire as it topped Rhode Island 63-53 at the Ryan Center on Saturday afternoon as it closed out its regular season. With the win, St. Bonaventure sets a program record 21 regular season wins, sitting 21-8 overall and 9-5 in Atlantic 10 action heading into the A-10 Championship on a four-game winning streak. The Bonnies also won their fifth conference road game to set a program record.
