– Charlotte’s Jennifer Hailey and Fordham’s Samantha Clark have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday. This marks Hailey’s second consecutive and third overall award for the season, while Clark also garners her third Rookie of the Week honor this season. Both student-athletes were recognized for games played during the week of Jan. 28–Feb. 3.
– The Xavier women’s basketball team battled the 18th-ranked Dayton Flyers Thursday night but eventually fell, 78-68, at UD Arena. Senior Amber Gray led all scorers with 21 points as the Musketeers shot 45.0 percent (27-60) from the floor for the game. XU falls to 7-15 overall and 1-7 in Atlantic 10 play while Dayton improves to 20-1 on the season and 8-0 in league action. XU won the battle of the boards, 39-32, and dished out 21 assists to 19 turnovers on the night. UD also shot 45.0 percent (27-60) from the floor but the advantage came in the 15-of-20 made free throw shots as Xavier only took three free ones on the night.
– The Butler women’s basketball team turned a close game into a blowout win on Thursday, pulling away in the second half for a 60-45 victory over Rhode Island at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Rhode Island (5-17, 0-7) committed 28 turnovers and made 15 field goals on the night. Butler forced five shot clock violations. The Bulldogs made up for a slow first half by dominating after halftime. With Butler leading 34-32 with 14:30 left, BU began to turn the game into a blowout. An 11-1 run capped by a back-door alley-oop to Stratman gave the Bulldogs a 45-33 lead.
– The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team (9-14, 2-6) fell to Duquesne (18-3, 7-1) on the road by a score of 61-33, dropping their fourth straight. Katie Healy’s game-high 13 points put her in double-figures for the fifth straight game, tied for the longest such streak of any Bonnie this season. Doris Ortega added 11 as the only other double-figure scorer for the Brown and White. Duquesne put three players in double-figures.
– Lorreal Jones registered her fourth double-double of the season, and Saint Louis overcame a sluggish start to defeat Massachusetts 59-50 Thursday night in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at Chaifetz Arena. The Billikens improved to 10-12 overall and 4-3 in the A-10 with their second consecutive victory. It’s the first time since the 2008-09 season that Saint Louis has been above .500 at the halfway point of the conference schedule. UMass fell to 3-20, 1-7 with its seventh straight loss.

Dayton 78, Xavier 68 | DAYTON HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME
DAYTON, Ohio - The Xavier women's basketball team battled the 18th-ranked Dayton Flyers Thursday night but eventually fell, 78-68, at UD Arena. With back-to-back 3-point baskets, Dayton pushed its lead to 27-16 before Pachko scored four unanswered points to stop the Flyer rally. Gray capped the Musketeers' first half scoring with a three with just over a minute left. She led XU with 10 points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
The Flyers were led by Samantha MacKay with 18 points, one of four Flyers in double-figures scoring, and dished out seven assists. Olivia Applewhite chipped in 11 points to go with a team-high nine rebounds.
Butler 60, Rhode Island 45 | BUTLER POSTGAME
INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women's basketball team turned a close game into a blowout win on Thursday, pulling away in the second half for a 60-45 victory over Rhode Island at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Rhode Island (5-17, 0-7) committed 28 turnovers and made 15 field goals on the night. Butler forced five shot clock violations.

Melendez led URI with 13 points and six rebounds. The Rams shot a respectable .429 to keep the game close most of the night but couldn't overcome turnovers and some timely 3-pointers by the Bulldogs. Butler shot 8-for-21 beyond the arc.
Duquesne 61, St. Bonaventure 33 | DUQUESNE POSTGAME
PITTSBURGH, PA. – The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team (9-14, 2-6) fell to Duquesne (18-3, 7-1) on the road by a score of 61-33, dropping their fourth straight. Katie Healy led the scoring for the Bonnies with 13.
The Bonnies trailed just 5-4 in the early going but allowed the Dukes to get out and run. Duquesne commenced on an 8-0 run that quickly turned into a 28-6 run to open up a 33-10 Duquesne lead.
Duquesne opened up the half with a triple and built their largest lead of the game, 45-17, by the 15:06 mark. Ortega and Healy did their best to keep the Bonnies alive but their efforts were all for not. Duquesne would run away with the 61-33 victory.

Jasmine Watson led UMass with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
The Billikens' 45-36 rebounding advantage included 17 offensive boards, tying the team's season high. SLU suffered just 12 turnovers and was 14-of-17 (.824) from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, UMass struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on 3-of-22 attempts from deep. The Minutewomen shot 50 percent (17-of-34) in 2-point tries, with Watson (9-of-11) leading the way.
