2010 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Four Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball standouts were recently recognized for the work on and off the hardwood, as Kristin Daugherty (UD), Morgan Robertson (LAS), Andrea Doneth (SBU) and Amanda Kemezys (SLU) were named to their respective 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams.
Daugherty carries a 3.79 GPA in public relations and is Dayton’s third-leading scorer this season, averaging 9.5 point per game. In less than three seasons, she has scored 971 points. She is 19th all-time on UD’s career scoring list and would be just the 18th Flyer to join the 1,000-point club. She has earned A-10 weekly honors five times in her career at UD, including three Rookie of the Week honors in 2007-08. Earlier this season, she was named MVP of the Purdue BTI Classic, which the Flyers won in November. She was also named to the Dartmouth Blue Sky Classic All-Tournament team in December.
Robertson, the A-10’s only first team selection, leads the Explorers in a number of categories including points per game (10.5), rebounds per game (6.2), and free throws made (63), while carrying a 3.89 GPA while pursuing a dual major in political science and psychology. She has reached double figures in points in 13 games, leading La Salle eight times including the team's high for the season (21 at Long Island, 11/15). She has led the team in rebounding 13 times, including grabbing double figures in rebounds three times, and has recorded two double-doubles this season. The senior forward, who was also named to the 2009 squad, will now move on to the national ballot and have a chance to be voted an Academic All-American - which would be La Salle's fourth all-time.
While maintaining a 3.70 grade point average in journalism and mass communication, Doneth has been a catalyst in the Bonnies’ impressive 2009-10 season. With her performances this year, the guard has moved into the top-10 list for career assists with 286. The East Lansing, Mich., product is consistently making a mark on the floor, leading the team in assists (67) and landing third in rebounds (88). She is shooting 42 percent from the floor and 78 percent (40-51) from the line.

Kemezys, an education major with a concentration in middle-school mathematics, is among the top 10 in four statistical categories in the Atlantic 10 Conference. She ranks third in overall rebounding (9.3 rpg), fourth in offensive rebounding (3.1 orpg) and ninth in scoring (13.0 ppg) and field-goal percentage (.487). She garnered A-10 Player of the Week plaudits for the second time in her career Dec. 21. On the Saint Louis career lists, Kemezys is fourth in rebounds (751), fifth in blocks (76) and eighth in free throws made (259). She ranks 14th in career scoring with 1,141 points and needs just 70 points to claim a top-10 spot. She also is in position to finish among the top 10 in rebounding average (current career average 7.6), field-goal percentage (currently .498) and free-throw percentage (currently .738). In addition, Kemezys is on pace to break SLU's single-season record for rebounds.
In order to be eligible for the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and be at least a sophomore in school. The national ballot will consist of the first team honorees from each of eight districts around the country. The basketball Academic All-America teams will be announced later this year.
