- Charlotte extended its win streak to a season-best seven straight with a pair of Atlantic 10 victories this past week, knocking off Temple at home Wednesday before going on the road and handing Saint Joseph’s its first league setback Sunday; the 49ers had a 10-game streak of holding opponents under 60 points snapped in Sunday’s victory, as the Hawks netted 66; Charlotte has now defeated two previous conference unbeatens on consecutive Sundays (Duquesne, 2/3 and Saint Joseph’s, 2/10); the 49ers’ senior Jennifer Hailey will soon enter her name into more spots in the school’s record book; she currently is tied for the program mark for career blocked shots with 207 and needs just 12 more rebounds to grab 1,000 in her career, becoming only the fourth women’s player in school history to reach four-digits; she also would become just the fourth women’s player with 1,000 points and 1,000 in her career.

- No. 18/15 University of Dayton improved to 9-0 in the Atlantic 10 and sits atop the standings after wins over Xavier and Fordham this week. In both games five UD players scored in double figures. The 68-57 win over Fordham gave Head Coach Jim Jabir his 400^th career victory. The Flyers are 19-0 this season when holding the lead at the half this season. The 21-1 start for the Flyers is the best in program history.

- Duquesne has hit the 19-win mark for the fifth straight season.

-With their sixth win in A-10 play on Wednesday night at La Salle, the Fordham Rams secured their highest ever conference win total since joining the Atlantic 10 nearly two decades ago.  The Rams’ 69-49 victory over the Explorers on Wednesday featured four Fordham players in double figures, and the team’s loss to #18 Dayton still saw outstanding performances from Marah Strickland, Erin Rooney and Arielle Collins.

- GW has won three in a row and five of its last seven games…Graduate student Tara Booker became the first player in GW history with at least 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, 100 blocks and 150 steals in her career.

- Lorreal Jones has five consecutive games with a double-digit rebounding total. Jones has moved into eighth place on the Billikens' career rebounds list with 627, and Mallory Eggert is ties for ninth with 619. Jacy Bradley is fifth in assists (313) and sixth in 3-pointers (118) on the Saint Louis career charts. SLU's four conference wins match the number the 2011-12 squad finished the season with. With 10 wins overall, Saint Louis already has equaled last year's regular season victory total.

-VCU forced 20-plus turnovers (22) Sunday at St. Bonaventure for the eighth time this season. The Rams, who outscored the Bonnies 43-27 in the second half Sunday, also improved to 9-2 when holding an opponent to fewer than 60 points.

VCU 64, ST. BONAVENTURE 51 | ST. BONAVENTURE HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - VCU (9-15, 2-7) used a big second half run to snap a six-game losing streak and pull away with a 64-51 victory over St. Bonaventure (9-15, 2-7) in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action on Sunday afternoon at the Reilly Center.

The lead changed hands for the 13th and final time when VCU's Adaeze Alaeze hit a 3-pointer with 11:24 remaining, giving the Rams a 37-35 advantage. Alaeze's basket commenced a 21-6 run from which the Bonnies could not recover.

VCU's Robyn Parks led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field.

St. Bonaventure's Katie Healy posted her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in defeat. Doris Ortega also added a solid all-around game for St. Bonaventure with 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

XAVIER 58, LA SALLE 53 | XAVIER HIGHLIGHTS

CINCINNATI - The Musketeers held on to their late lead winning 58-53 over La Salle Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center. Xavier erased a 14-point deficit to claim its second conference win in the past three games.

With the victory, Xavier improves to 8-15 on the season and 2-7 in the Atlantic 10 while La Salle falls to 7-16 and 3-5 in the conference.

A late 11-2 run by Xavier, punctuated by a layup by Aliyah Zantt at the 2:57 mark, gave the Musketeers a 52-51 lead and their first lead since the 16:17 mark in the first half. Free throws by Amber Gray sealed the comeback for the Musketeers.

Gray finished with a team-high 14 points to go along with seven rebounds. Jessica Pachko netted 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Shatyra Hawkes tied a season-high with seven assists and swiped two steals.

Shanel Harrison of La Salle scored a game-high 17 points and pulled in nine rebounds for the Explorers.

GEORGE WASHINGTON 77, BUTLER 60 | GW HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's basketball team shot 65 percent in the second half en route to a 77-60 rout of Atlantic 10 newcomer Butler in the first-ever meeting between the two teams on Sunday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center.

With the victory, George Washington improves to 11-12 overall on the season and 5-4 in conference play, while Butler falls to 14-9 overall and 5-3 in the A-10.

George Washington's Chakecia Miller led four Colonials in double figures with 18 points, with all but four coming in the second half, while also adding four assists and three steals. Tara Booker posted her first double-double of the season and the 11th of her career with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with three steals and three assists. She was 5-of-8 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from three-point range. 

Butler's Daress McClung led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Hannah Douglas tied her season high with 13 points, converting 6 of her 7 free throws.

George Washington finished 8-for-14 from 3-point range and had a 45-23 rebounding edge (18-8 offensive). The Colonials had 23 assists on 30 field goals and shot .484 on the day.

CHARLOTTE 71, SAINT JOSEPH'S 66 | CHARLOTTE POSTGAME | SJU HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team had its eight-game win streak snapped Sunday as the Hawks dropped their first Atlantic 10 game of the season, 71-66, against Charlotte at Hagan Arena. Redshirt senior Chatilla van Grinsven had a game-high 20 points and added 10 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season for SJU.

Leading 40-32 to start the second half, Saint Joseph's (16-6, 7-1 A-10) came out cold as Charlotte used a 17-6 run to open the stanza, taking a 49-46 lead on a three pointer by Hillary Sigmon at 13:38.

Saint Joseph's fought back to tie the game at 55-55 on a three-point play by Ashley Prim, but the 49ers answered with an 11-0 run as a pair of free throws by Amanda Dowe put the visitors up 66-55 with less than five minutes to play.

Scrambling back, Saint Joseph's made it a one-possession game with 1:52 to go on a pair of free throws by van Grinsven. After a defensive stop, the Hawks failed to convert on their next possession as Charlotte hit 1-of-2 from the foul line to make it a 68-64 game with 39 seconds to play.

Natasha Cloud's driving layup made it a 68-66 game with under 15 second to go, but Charlotte's Ny Hammonds sealed the victory, hitting a pair of free throws, while teammate Jai Forney got a steal and added an insurance free throw with six seconds remaining.

Amanda Dowe led the way for Charlotte with 19 points to lead five players in double figures. Dowe and Jennifer Hailey each had 14 rebounds, with Hailey adding 11 points and two blocked shots.

DUQUESNE 59, RICHMOND 54

PITTSBURGH - Four players scored in double-figures as the Duquesne women's basketball, sporting pink uniforms team defeated Richmond 59-54 in the Dukes' Play4Kay game at the Palumbo Center on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Duquesne improves to 19-4 overall and 8-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Richmond falls to 12-13 overall and 2-7 in the A-10.

April Robinson and Jocelyn Floyd each scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Vanessa Abel scored 12 and Orsi Szecsi added 11 for Duquesne. Floyd also had a game-high six steals.

Kristina King scored a game-high 21 points for Richmond. Rachel Bilney scored 10 points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

TEMPLE 54, SAINT LOUIS 50

PHILADELPHIA - Victoria Macaulay scored 16 points and blocked a career-high nine shots to lead Temple women's basketball to a 54-50 win against Saint Louis (10-13, 4-4 A-10) on Sunday afternoon. Macaulay had a lot of help from her teammates in a game that was close throughout, with three other players scoring in double-figures for the Owls (11-12, 4-4 A-10).

There were eight ties and 10 lead changes in the contest. The Owls led for the final seven minutes, but never by more than three until the final seconds. Temple's Sally Kabengano, Natasha Thames and Meghan Roxas all scored 11 points, with Thames adding a team-high nine rebounds.

Macaulay's nine blocks are the most for any Temple player snce the 1982-83 season, and are just two shy of tying the program record for a single game. The Owls finished with 13 team blocks, also two shy of the program record set back in 1987. The Billikens' Jacy Bradley led all scorers with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field.

DAYTON 68, FORDHAM 57 | DAYTON POSTGAME | FORDHAM HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

BRONX, N.Y. - Five Flyers scored in double figures as the No. 18/15 University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated Fordham 68-57 Sunday evening.

In a battle of two of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 standings, Dayton's Amber Deane led the Flyers (21-1, 9-0 A-10) with 14 points, 5 assists, and three steals. Kelley Austria and Olivia Applewhite each added 12 points, while Cassie Sant and Brittany Wilson chipped in 10 points apiece.

Marah Strickland paced Fordham (16-7, 6-2 A-10) with a game-high 21 points. Erin Rooney added 18 points for the Rams.

Dayton won the battle of the boards 38-30. Applewhite had a game-high nine rebounds and Wilson had a season-high eight rebounds for the Flyers. Andrea Hoover tied her career high in steals with four thefts and she also had six rebounds.

Dayton dominated in the post, outscoring Fordham 46-16 on points in the paint. The Flyers also capitalized on the Rams' 22 miscues, outscoring Fordham 21-7 in points off turnovers. Dayton's bench also came up big, outscoring Fordham's 34-0
