CHARLOTTE 73, LA SALLE 56 | CHARLOTTE POSTGAME

PHILADELPHIA - In a tale of two halves, the Charlotte women's basketball team pulled away in the second half riding a career day from Jennifer Hailey to post a 73-56 victory at La Salle Sunday afternoon, equaling the school record for consecutive wins with 11.

Hailey, posted a career- high 27 points and career-high 18 rebounds, has now recorded her 12 consecutive double-doubles including one in every Atlantic 10 contest this season. She also connected on 11-of-15 field goals and 5-of-9 at the foul line, while she also extended her streak to 38-straight games with at least one blocked shot.

As a program, Charlotte now has won 11 in a row for the third time in school history and the first since between Dec. 8, 1980, and Jan. 21, 1981.

Also aiding Charlotte's cause Sunday was a 10-point effort from Jai Forney and a near double-double of nine points and nine rebounds from Amanda Dowe. Ny Hammonds also dished out eight assists, one-half of the team's total, and just one shy of the Explorers team total.

Ebonee Jones paced La Salle with 20 points on 8-0f-22 shooting. Reigning Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, Shanel Harrison, also chipped in 16 points and a team-high six boards.

DUQUESNE 53, MASSACHUSETTS 44 |  UMASS HIGHLIGHTS | UMASS POSTGAME

AMHERST, Mass. - The Duquesne women's basketball defeated Massachusetts 53-44 Sunday afternoon to improve to 20-6 on the season and 9-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. With the loss, Massachusetts falls to 3-24 overall and 1-11 in conference play.

Duquesne's Jocelyn Floyd led the way for the Dukes with 18 points, 16 of which came in the first half, nine rebounds and seven steals. Floyd became the all-time steals leader in Duquesne women's basketball history after recording a steal at the 16:32 mark in the first half.

Massachusetts' Jasmine Watson had 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, along with seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of blocks to lead the Minutewomen.

The Minutewomen were within four, 46-42 with 3:15 remaining after Watson fought into the paint and netted a turnaround layup; however, Duquesne sealed the contest with five made free throws down the stretch.

UMass went 18-for-46 from the floor, including 5-for-17 from beyond the arc. While Duquesne finished 21-for-60 overall and 4-of-19 on three-point attempts.

GEORGE WASHINGTON 57, ST. BONAVENTURE 52 | GW HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

WASHINGTON, D.C - The George Washington women's basketball team withstood a late St. Bonaventure comeback to walk away with a 57-52 victory on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, George Washington improves to 12-14 on the season and 6-6 in the A-10 while St. Bonaventure falls to 9-18 and 2-10 in the conference.

After entering the half with a 30-25 lead, George Washington extended its lead to a game-high 14 points by the 10:56 mark in the second half. St. Bonaventure was able to cut the deficit to as little as four points with two minutes remaining in regulation before George Washington ultimately hung on for the victory.

George Washington's Megan Nipe posted her first career double-double as she recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Colonials. Also joining her in double-figures were Danni Jackson, Shi-Heria Shipp and Tara Booker.

St. Bonaventure's Katie Healey led the way for the Bonnies with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Doris Ortega and Alaina Walker also added 12 points each.

DAYTON 67, TEMPLE 47 | DAYTON HIGHLIGHTS/POSTGAME

DAYTON, Ohio - Five Dayton players reached double-figures as the #14/14 Flyers (24-1, 12-0) handed Temple women's basketball a 67-47 loss on Sunday afternoon at Dayton Arena. Temple (12-15, 5-7) had strong starts in both the first and second half, but were unable to sustain the momentum.

Andrea Hoover led Dayton with 14 points and four steals, while four of her other teammates also scored in double-digits for the Flyers.

Tyronna Williams led Temple with 13 points, hitting 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Natasha Thames led all players with a career-high 18 rebounds. Victoria Macaulay and Meghan Roxas each scored eight points, with Macaulay adding seven rebounds and three blocks.

Nearly half of Dayton's points were scored off Temple's 26 turnovers. The Flyers finished with a 31-6 edge in points off turnovers, committing only 12 themselves.

FORDHAM 70, SAINT JOSEPH'S 63

BRONX, N.Y. - Fordham (20-7, 10-2) outlasted Saint Joseph's (19-8, 10-2) in thrilling overtime matchup on Sunday, 70-63, to capture its first 20-win season since the 1993-94 season.

Fordham's Marah Strickland poured in a career-high 31 points to lead the way for the Rams. Samantha Clark finished the game with her fourth double-double of the year, scoring ten points and grabbing 11 boards. Erin Rooney also turned in a huge performance, scoring 14 points and dishing out seven assists in the win.

Saint Joseph's found themselves trailing 38-26 early in the second half before fighting back to tie the game up at 58-58 at the end of regulation. A Marah Strickland half-court heave with 1.4 seconds on the clock which would have been the game-winner for Fordham just barely missed.

In the extra period, the Rams scored the first five points of the extra stanza and held the Hawks scoreless for the first three minutes of overtime. Fordham also was 7-0f-8 from the free throw line in the extra period.

Chatil van Grinsven led the way for Saint Joseph's with 26 points and 13 rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting from the field. Also scoring in double-figures for the Hawks was Ashley Prim with 15 points.

SAINT LOUIS 67, RHODE ISLAND 48

KINGSTON, R.I. - Saint Louis' Jacy Bradley scored a career-high 28 points, and Saint Louis tied a school defensive record in a 67-48 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Rhode Island Sunday at the Ryan Center.

The Billikens snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 11-16 overall and 5-7 in the A-10. The 11 total wins and five conference victories surpass last year's regular-season totals. While with the loss, Rhode Island fell to 6-21 overall and 1-11 in the conference.

Saint Louis' Courtney Webb scored 15 points, including a pair of treys that moved her into a tie for 10th on SLU's career 3-pointers list (90). Webb also tallied season highs in free throws made and attempted with a 5-of-6 effort from the line, Mallory Eggert also chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds for the Billikens.

Samantha Tabakman led Rhode Island with 16 points, while Brianna Thomas scored 14 points and Kerry Wallack grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Rams.

In addition to scoring a season-high 67 points and posting its largest victory margin this year, Saint Louis tied the school season record for holding opponents to fewer than 50 points. Rhode Island is the 10th Billiken opponent overall and fifth A-10 foe to fall short of the 50-point mark this season.
