Every Flyer scored as the University of Dayton women's basketball team won its season opener, 93-59, over Mississippi Valley State (0-1) Friday night in the first game of the Maggie Dixon Classic at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

Richmond 71, Longwood 61
Richmond used a pivotal second-half run to down Longwood, 71-61, in its season opener Friday at the Robins Center.

Central Connecticut 57, Rhode Island 49 (OT)
Rhode Island dropped a 57-49 overtime decision to Central Connecticut in its 2012-13 season opener.

Duquesne 63, Liberty 46
April Robinson and Belma Nurkic combined for 29 points and head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio recorded her 100th career win as the Duquesne women's basketball team defeated Liberty 63-46 in the first round of the Preseason WNIT. The Dukes will advance to play at North Carolina on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

George Washington 80, UT Arlington 42
Four players reached double figures in scoring as the George Washington women's basketball team opened the Jonathan Tsipis era with a dominating 80-47 win over UT Arlington on Friday evening at

Temple 55, Montana 41
Senior Victoria Macaulay scored a career-tying 21 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Temple women's basketball to a 55-41 win in the Owls' season opener against Montana (0-1) on Friday night. The teams were tied at halftime but Temple (1-0) opened the second half on a 12-2 run and never looked back.


 

 

Missouri 67, Saint Louis 51
Courtney Webb poured in 17 points and Lorreal Jones added 12, but Missouri used a 3-point shooting barrage to defeat Saint Louis 67-51 Friday night at Mizzou Arena in the season opener for both teams.
