Butler edged Ball State, 70-62, for its first win of the young season, Tuesday evening in Muncie, Ind, Junior forward Daress McClung led all scorers with 21 points.

Central Connecticut 72, Massachusetts 65
Massachusetts dropped a narrow 72-65 decision at Central Connecticut on Tuesday night. Emily Mital led the Minutewomen with 20 points, while reigning A-10 Player of the Week Jasmine Watson added 16.
