VCU dropped its second game of the young season, a narrow, 68-63, decision at Manhattan on Wednesday night. Robyn Parks led all scorers with 34 points.
Dayton 79, Toledo 76
The University of Dayton women's basketball team topped Toledo 79-76 Wednesday night at UD Arena in the Flyers' home opener to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 1992-93 season. Sophomore Andrea Hoover equaled her career high in points; notching a game-high 22 points in the victory. Sophomore Ally Malott had 16 points, including eight in the final four minutes of the game. Junior Cassie Sant also scored in double figures with 12 points.
Saint Joseph's 47, Drexel 45
Saint Joseph's claimed its first win of the 2012-13 season, as the Hawks outlasted cross-town rival Drexel on Wednesday evening at the Dragons' Daskalakis Center.

George Washington fell, 56-52, at Rutgers on Wednesday night. The Colonials were led by Danni Jackson, who scored 10 points and added four steals, while Tara Booker recored six points and four rebounds.
