Agunbiade, Coia Garner Women's Basketball Weekly Nods

A-10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Duquesne’s Wumi Agunbiade and Rhode Island’s Corinne Coia were selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday. Agunbiade, a sophomore forward, averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Duquesne, including wins over Miami (OH) and Morehead State. The Pickering, Ontario native recorded a team-best 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting in DU’s, 64-63, win over Miami, before posting her ninth career double-double of a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds against Morehead State. Agunbiade finished the week shooting 61 percent (14-23) percent from the floor, including a career-best 80 percent (8-10) versus Morehead State. She has now surpassed the 500-point career mark in just 41 games at Duquesne and has scored in double-figures in seven straight contests. Coia, a freshman forward, averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in Rhode Island’s two contests against Central Connecticut and Quinnipiac last week. The North Smith, R.I., native came off the bench to score a team- and career-best 19 points versus Quinnipiac, shooting 50 percent (7-14) from the field, while adding six rebounds, one assist and one steal. She also scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists at Central Connecticut. A-10 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HONOR ROLL
