NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Richmond's Katelin Peterson earns Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring three goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Spiders that clinched the top seed in the A-10 Championship. La Salle's Lisa Shaffer recorded her third shutout of the season against conference rival Saint Louis to earn Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week honors.

Peterson assisted on the game-winning goal in Richmond's 1-0 victory over Massachusetts on Friday and notched her third-career hat trick and assisted on the fourth goal in the Spiders' 4-1 victory over La Salle Sunday that clinched the top-seed in the A-10 Tournament. Peterson is fourth at Richmond in career points (116), goals (45) and assists (26). The senior led the A-10 in goals, points and assists in conference play.

Shaffer stopped one shot on Friday for her third shutout of season in 3-0 win over Saint Louis. The win earned the Explorers their first trip to the A-10 Field Hockey Championship since 1997. Later in the week the Telford, Pa. native topped three shots in loss at Richmond. Shaffer came into week leading the nation in save pct.
