A-10 Announces 2008 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team

Charise Young PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Temple junior Charise Young has been named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year in a vote of the Conference's sports information directors. Young lead the Owls in goals (eight) points (23). Her .333 shot percentage also led the team, while her seven assists are tied for tops in the A-10. Young was named to the NFHCA National Academic Team, as well as the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2006 and 2007. A secondary education major, Young was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team in 2007.

Along with Young, the Academic All-Conference field hockey team consists of teammate Liz Watto; La Salle's Maria Allegretto, Haley Froshour, and Emma Ruth; Alex Malatesta and Erin Parker of Massachusetts; Saint Joesph's Krista Bordogna, Anne Schreuders, and Kellie Walter; and Brittany Cislak of West Chester. Allegretto, Bordogna, Parker and Young are each repeat selections.
