PHILADELPHIA - Top-seeded Richmond (13-5, 6-1 A-10) and #2 seed George Washington (11-6, 6-1 A-10) advanced to the finals of the 2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Final after posting victories in semi-final action on Friday. Richmond defeated Temple (6-11, 4-3 A-10), 13-6, in the first game to advance to its third straight A-10 final, while the Colonials topped St. Bonaventure (8-7, 5-2 A-10), 15-9, behind five goals from Taylor Donahue. Sunday's Championship can be seen live on CSTV at 3 p.m.
Richmond jumped out to a 5-0 lead to begin the game, thanks to two goals a piece from Allison Furstenburg and Morghan Vahue. Nicole Caniglia got the Owls on the board at 7:13 and Whitney Richards added one more to make it 5-2 at the break. Casey Cech began second half scoring to close the gap to two goals (5-3) but the Spiders went on a two goal run to make it 7-3 with 20 minutes remaining. The teams traded goals for the next few minutes before Richmond scored five unanswered goals to end the game with a 13-6 result.
Richards netted two goals to lead the Owls, while Mandy Friend and Furstenburg had three goals a piece to aid in the Spider win.
A-10 Defensive Player of the Year Jackie Swansburg stopped nine TU shots, while Bridget McMullan had 11 saves.
Donahue's five goals and one assist led the Colonials to their fourth straight win, 15-9, over #3 seed St. Bonaventure. Katelyn Faas led St. Bonaventure with three goals and one assist.
The Bonnies took a 2-0 lead before Kristen Karsch got GW on the board at 21:43 to make it 2-1. Play was tight, with each team going on a two goal run to make it 4-3 with just over 14 minutes to go, before the Colonials took over. GW scored eight unanswered goals to make it 11-5 with just over 28 minutes to play. The Bonnies attempted to mount a comeback late in the second half, netting three straight goals in three minutes but the Colonials went on a 4-1 run to end the game with the 15-9 result.
Eboni Preston had stellar day in goal for the Bonnies with 15 saves, while GW's Caitlin Garman had four saves in the win.

GW outshot the Bonnies, 45-20, and had an edge in groundballs (19-13) and draw controls (16-10).
