Field Set For 2010 A-10 Women's Lacrosse Championship

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Regular season champion Richmond (9-8, 6-1) is the top-seed for this week's 2010 A-10 Women's Lacrosse Championship, to be held Apr. 23-25 on the campus of Duquesne University Second-seeded La Salle (9-6, 5-2), defending champion and No. 3 Massachusetts (8-8, 5-2) and No. 4 Temple (7-7, 4-3) round out the four-team field. The semifinal games will be played on Friday, Apr. 23, as the Spiders face fourth-seeded Temple at 1:00 pm at Rooney Field, while the Explorers take on the Minutewomen at 3:30pm. The finals will be played at 3:00pm on Sunday, Apr. 25, and televised live on CBS College Sports. Led by sophomore midfielder Mary Flowers, Richmond has won three Championship titles in the last five years and is looking for its fourth title overall, while La Salle is making its first-ever appearance. Massachusetts has advanced to the Championship for the 10th consecutive year and seeks its third title crown in program annals. Temple earns its 11th A-10 berth in the last 12 seasons and has captured five overall titles, including four-straight from 2001-04. The top four teams from regular season play qualified to participate in the Championship. The Atlantic 10 champion earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship.
