PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The field is now set for the 2009 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship to be held Friday and Sunday, April 24th and 26th, and hosted by Temple University at Geasey Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

The semifinal games will be played on Friday with top-seeded Massachusetts facing #4 George Washington at 1:00 pm followed by #2 Richmond versus #3 Saint Joseph's at 3:30 pm. The Championship game will be played at 1:00 pm on Sunday. The top four teams from regular season play qualified to participate in the Championship. The Atlantic 10 champion earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Massachusetts (9-7/6-1) enters the Championship as the league's #1 seed after earning its first Atlantic 10 regular season title since sharing the honors in 2000. The Minutewomen captured a come-from-behind 14-13 victory over St. Bonaventure in its regular season finale to win its first A-10 title outright. UMass will face #4 George Washington (5-11/4-3) in the first semifinal contest. Massachusetts hopes to win its second A-10 Championship and first since 2000. George Washington (5-11/4-3) and Duquesne (9-8/4-3) tied for fourth in the league standings with a 4-3 mark, but the Colonials won the #4 seed due to a win over the Dukes during the regular season. George Washington is looking for its first-ever tournament title.

#2 Richmond (6-11/5-2) and #3 Saint Joseph's (9-7/5-2) shared a 5-2 mark for second place in the Conference standings but Richmond beat the Hawks in the last game of the season to take the #2 seed.
