15th Annual A-10 Rowing Championship Set To Be Held April 17

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The 15th annual Atlantic 10 Women's Rowing Championship will take place on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., on Saturday, Apr. 17. Defending champion Massachusetts (141) captured its league-record 13th A-10 Women's Rowing Championship last season, beating out runner-up Rhode Island (117) by a 24-point margin. URI seized the title in 2008. In its most recent competition at the Knecht Cup (Apr. 10-11), UMass recorded third-place finishes in both the Varsity 8 (Petite final) and Varsity 4 (Petite final) events. The 2010 Championship begins at 8:00am with trials on Saturday on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. Finals will commence at approximately 11:20am. Competing in this year's Atlantic 10 Championship are Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's and Temple.
