PHILADELPHIA, PA – Abby Lively of Massachusetts has been named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year in women's rowing. Voting was conducted among the Conference's sports information directors. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be an important part of the team.

Lively was a member of the UMass crew that won the Lightweight 4 at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship this year, helping the Minutewomen to an unprecedented 11th straight A-10 team title. In the fall, the senior from Rowe, MA, rowed in both the Lightweight 4 and Lightweight 8, earning a silver medal at the Head of the Fish and a bronze at the Head of the Textile. In the classroom, Lively maintains a 3.95 grade point average as a kinesiology major.

Lively is joined on the Academic All-Conference rowing team by teammates Hannah Brewster and Gabrielle Papineau; George Washington's Kate Austin, Liz Gordon, and Mansi Shah; Erin Baxter of Rhode Island; Dayton's Tiffany Latta; Katie Parry of Saint Joseph's; and Jennifer Roussil of Fordham. Austin, Gordon, Parry, and Roussil were all members of last year's Academic All-Conference team.
