NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Senior Megan Donovan of Massachusetts has been named the Atlantic 10's Student-Athlete of the Year in women's rowing in voting conducted by the Conference's sports information directors.

Donovan was a member of both the Second Varsity 8+ and Quad boats that finished runner-up at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship on Apr. 17 in Pennsauken, N.J. The Orange, Mass., native garnered first-team All-Conference distinction as the Minutewomen placed second in the nine-team field. Donovan also competed in the Varsity 4+, Lightweight 4+ and Lightweight 8+ races at the Knecht Cup on Apr. 10-11 in Camden, N.J.

In the classroom, Donovan boasts a 3.966 grade point average as a kinesiology major. She is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and was named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the Fall 2009.

Joining Donovan on the 2010 Women's Rowing Academic All-Conference team are Danielle Brady, Colleen Greway, Katie Herdmann and Lauren Rozsits of Saint Joseph's; Dayton's Katherine Bruening and Lydia Caldwell; Chelsea Breitenbach of Duquesne; Fordham's Stephanie Narduzzo; and Jenessa Redfern of Rhode Island.
