Charlotte senior midfielder Lindsey Ozimek and Massachusetts senior defender Kaelyn Caldwell have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America women's soccer team, it was announced on Tuesday. The team is annually selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ozimek has been named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American in each of the last three seasons and has earned first-team honors the past two years. Ozimek currently holds a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Special Education and joins former 49ers track and field standout Sharonda Johnson (2005-07) as the only two student-athletes in school history to be named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Americans three times.

This season, Ozimek, a finalist for the Lowe's Senior Class Award, helped the 49ers tie the school-record with 16 wins en route to the A-10 regular season and tournament titles and the third NCAA Tournament berth in the program's history. She scored the final goal in her career against Clemson in the NCAA Tournament which moved her into a tie for the team lead in goals with six. She became the first recipient of the A-10 Midfielder of the Year award this season after leading the A-10 with 13 assists. Earlier, this year she became the program's all-time leader in career assists and she finished her career with a 43 assists.

Ozimek who also was a three-time All-Atlantic 10 and Atlantic 10 All-Championship selection, played an integral role in helping the 49ers win 45 games and capture two A-10 regular-season titles and the 2007 A-10 Championship during her four-year career.

Caldwell, who had one of her best seasons as a senior, was named to the third-team after she tallied a career-high four points and led a UMass defense that ranked as one of the top units in the Atlantic 10. She was named to the A-10 Academic All-Conference Team for the third consecutive year and first-team Academic All-District, which qualified her for All-America honors. Caldwell sports a 3.93 grade point average as a Psychology major.

Caldwell started all 17 games in 2007, while starting 51-of-52 over the past three seasons. Since her arrival, the UMass defense has been one of the top units in the Conference. In 2007, the Minutewomen defense allowed only 1.18 goals per game (20 in 17 games). In 2006, the team only gave up 0.94 goals per game (16 in 17 games) and in 2005, they allowed an average of one goal per game (18 in 18 games).
