DAYTON, Ohio - Coming off one of the best seasons in school history, Dayton women's soccer head coach Mike Tucker has been named the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region's Division I Coach of the Year. It marks the first time in his career Tucker has been selected for this honor.

"This is a great honor. This is all about the great players and staff that I have around me," said Tucker. "It feels good that people recognize what a great year we had, and this honor is reflective of that success we enjoyed this year."

Tucker led the Flyers to an unbeaten regular season, the Atlantic 10 regular season title, the 2009 A-10 Championship, and to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Flyers finished the season with a 16-1-6 record and Tucker garnered A-10 Coach of the Year distinction for the third time.

Having completed his 15th season at Dayton, Tucker, a 1969 graduate of Cincinnati, boasts a career record of 216-80-22 (.714).
