Philadelphia, PA - For the first time since 1994, six teams will take part in the 25th annual Atlantic 10 Women's Volleyball Championship, which commences on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Frericks Center on the campus of the University of Dayton. Dayton, Temple, Saint Louis, Xavier, Charlotte and Fordham will compete for an automatic berth into the 2006 NCAA Volleyball Championship.

Dayton (21-8/11-2) captured a share of the A-10 West Division title with an 11-2 Conference mark and earned the top-seed in the Championship due to a head-to-head tie-breaker with Saint Louis (19-8/11-2), which also earned a share of the West Division title. Temple (16-13) garners the Championship's second seed as a result of winning the East Division with an 8-5 Conference mark. Both Dayton and Temple earned a first-round bye in the Championship.

Saint Louis earned the third-seed due to Conference winning percentage and will face the sixth-seeded Fordham Rams on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5:00 pm. Xavier (17-11/10-3) and Charlotte (19-11/7-6) will square off as the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively, at 7:30 pm.

The quarterfinal winners will meet the top seeds, Dayton and Temple, in the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 18, beginning at 5:00 pm. The Championship match will be played on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 1:00 pm. Dayton is gunning for its fourth-straight A-10 Championship title.

Tickets to the Atlantic 10 Women's Volleyball Championship will be available at the Frericks Center ticket office the day of the matches. A single day ticket may be purchased for $5 for adults or $3 for A-10 students, children 18 and under, and senior citizens. A three-day pass is available for $10 for adults and $5 for A-10 students, children 18 and under, and seniors.
