George Washington senior libero Maggie Wright was named Student-Athlete of the Year in voting by the Conference's sports information directors.

Wright earns Student-Athlete of the Year honors after leading George Washington in digs with 4.00 per set and helping the Colonials earn the East Division regular season title. A team co-captain, the Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. native has started all 109 sets for GW and ranks third on the team in both service aces (19) and assists (28). She sports a 3.96 grade point average as a pre-health major and earned 2008 ESPN The Magazine first-team All-District honors.

Along with Wright, the Academic All-Conference volleyball team consists of teammates Lauren Kaminsky and Kelly Ruth of Xavier; La Salle's Christa Dominick; Whitney Behrens of Saint Louis; Temple's Jackie Morrison and Carly Romberg of Charlotte.
