DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton volleyball will make its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship on Thursday, Dec. 1 against Kentucky in College Station, Texas. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET from Reed Arena.

Host, No. 16 Texas A&M, will face Lipscomb in the first round. Winners of the first round will play on Dec. 2 for the right to advance to the Lexington Regional in Lexington, Ky.

No. 1 Texas is the top-seeded team in the Lexington Region, while No. 9 UCLA and No. 8 Penn State round out the seeded teams in the Region.

Dayton (25-6) will make its eighth appearance in the NCAA Championship after earning the Atlantic 10’s automatic bid as three-peat regular season and tournament champions. The Flyers hold a 3-7 all-time record in the tournament and have advanced to the second round in back-to-back seasons.

Kentucky (25-6) earned a seventh consecutive bid to the tournament, the school’s 13th appearance overall. The Wildcats are one of three Southeastern Conference teams in the field of 64 – all three came out of the Eastern Division (Tennessee, Florida and Kentucky).

In the last meeting between Dayton and Kentucky on Sept. 14, 2002 in Lexington, Ky., the Flyers swept the Wildcats in straight sets during the Kentucky Conference Challenge. Dayton leads the all-time series, 2-1.
