PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Saint Louis volleyball team earned the 13-seed and will make its second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament while Dayton grabbed an at-large berth and will host a first round match-up. Saint Louis is slated to face Alabama A & M in first round action on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Lexington, Ky. at 5:00 (ET), and Dayton will host Western Michigan on Dec. 5 with times still to be determined. This is the second straight year that the Atlantic 10 Conference will send two teams to the NCAA Championship and just the third time overall.
The Billikens (28-4) enter the postseason tournament riding a program-best 20-match win streak, including two victories in the A-10 Championship to give SLU its second A-10 title in three years and the league's automatic bid. The Billikens are led by junior outside hitter Sammi McCloud, the 2008 A-10 Player of the Year, and classmate Whitney Roth, the 2008 A-10 Setter of the Year.
Dayton (21-12) is making its fifth appearance in the NCAA Championship and is hosting first and second round matches for the second straight season and second time overall.
